The building has a sense of history and the abundance of hot springs in the building is wonderful. The guest rooms are spacious, and the feeling of time passing in a relaxed manner is excellent. I ordered shabu-shabu for dinner, and the Shinshu apple wagyu beef was very tasty with crispy fat. The barley toro rice for breakfast was also irresistible.

I was a little worried because of the mixed reviews, but from the time I arrived at the hotel until I left, the staff in charge was smiling, friendly, and courteous. I would definitely recommend taking the tour of the museum to get to know the building. After listening to the explanation, we learned about the history of the building and the luxurious construction of the guest rooms, etc. It was a precious stay. The hot spring baths at the inn were hot, and the outside baths were either too hot or too hot for me.

We visited on a deep snow day in the middle of winter.
The exterior, rumored to have been used as the model for Spirited Away, is beautiful, and the hallways have a great atmosphere as well. I also enjoyed the tour of the museum.
The hot springs are scattered throughout the pavilion, and while looking for the next one, one gets cold and cools off in the next bath, then warms up again in the next bath, repeating the process.
That is also good.
I have fond memories of strolling through the hot spring resort area after dinner to look for sake and snacks for the evening meal.
Then you will be welcomed by the beautifully lit inn.

Walking around Shibu Onsen, a town of hot spring water (guide to the area)

Outside the inn, narrow lane lined with cobblestonesand the air with a flutter of hot water.
It is somewhat nostalgic and makes me feel strange, as if I am being told "welcome back" even though I am here for the first time.

The Jigokudani Yaen-koen, famous for its nine outdoor hot springs and monkeys soaking in the hot springs, is also close by.
After a stroll, return to the inn for a relaxing hot spring bath--this is a town that will surely suit your style of spending time.

A gentle taste that harmonizes with the town (Introduction of nearby stores)
